Ahh the sweet smell of commerce

There are just so many things wrong with this… Meat Loaf as Dad, Tiffany as mom, and a rewrite of a 70’s song to sell a new phone to your obviously spoiled kid. And what’s with the shout out to Milwaukee? Do we have more rampant spoiled kids here, or just fatter dads who role over when it comes to discipline? Whatever the case this might actually be a step up in both Tiffany and Meat Loaf’s career. Scary.

When Advertising Goes Horribly Wrong…

Okay. No one is going to say advertising is perfect. I actually hate a lot of it and I work in the industry. I liken it to being a lawyer. There are lawyers who do important work, and help lots of people, and then there are the ambulance chasers, who take advantage of people. I think advertising has this same polarization too, and here is a taste from the bottom of the pool.

An Awareness Ad

A great ad on awareness. Have fun and see if you can count all the passes… Good Luck!

The making of an expensive commercial

This is a commercial I posted for St. Patrick’s Day, but I found this 9 minute video that explains how it was created. (This includes the full commercial at the end.) The creators of this couldn’t have picked a more difficult place to shoot a commercial, but the finished result underlines the importance of creativity and commitment to a project. The rumor from Ad Age is that this cost Guinness 20 million to make, I wouldn’t doubt it. Enjoy this mini-documentary on how to make an expensive/amazing commercial for, what else? Beer.

Mac Blasts Vista

Two new rather scathing ads against Microsoft’s Vista. I guess if you’re a mac user, you don’t care, and if you use Windows you’re either A. still on XP, or B. having issues with Vista, and this probably makes you madder. Is Vista really that buggy? Sound off if you like, but you won’t get any sympathy from me : )

Art vs. Robot

guy-robot.jpg

Handmade, robot art, but don’t play with it. These creations come from guy robot. These robots have great personalities, and should star on lunchboxes or in movies or something. Creative and fun. Check them out, they even have back stories like super heros.
