Making of a Macworld Cover

Cover creation from Peter Belanger on Vimeo.

a lot goes into shooting a cover for a magazine such as Macworld, and this doesn’t involve using live subjects.

It’s Hard to Hate Brett Favre

I love him, I hate him, I love him, I hate him… I think the true packer fans have flipped-flopped on Favre as much as he has on his playing status. It’s also hard to hate a guy who can laugh at himself. Here is a new commercial for Sears who is smartly cashing in on this idea. View the commercial and then the out-takes. Bon-appetite.

Shadow Puppets in a whole new light…

U.S. Cellular and shadow puppets. Here is the 60 second spot of a very different commercial.

20 brands that died this year…

Sure the year is more than half over, but I came across this list of brands that have died and will be no more. Brands that you grew up with and now will only come up in conversations at late night parties where someone starts, “oh do you remember that one…”. Check out this list, it surprised me too.

Love through Post-It Notes

I love little movies like this with quirky characters and clever ideas and an overall feeling of love and goodwill. Love them.

Connecting the dots…

How do you take a crappy idea and really make it shine? Find an idea that someone had and then alter it in someway to serve another purpose. When you see this commercial you will say, “why didn’t I think of that.” It wasn’t hard for anyone to connect these dots, and someone did, but it wasn’t you and it wasn’t me.
